Terms of Service
Last updated: April 27, 2026
These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your use of Legal Triage (“we,” “us,” or “the Service”), a website that provides general legal information about residential rental disputes. By using the Service, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.
1. What Legal Triage Is — and Isn’t
Legal Triage produces written assessments of rental-law situations based on the information you provide and the publicly available statutes of supported U.S. states. Our reports are general legal information, not legal advice.
No attorney-client relationship is formed by your use of the Service, by your purchase of a premium report, or by any communication with us. We are not a law firm. We do not represent you. For advice specific to your circumstances, consult a licensed attorney in your jurisdiction.
2. Eligibility
You must be at least 18 years old and capable of entering into a binding contract under the laws of your jurisdiction to use the Service.
3. Free and Premium Reports
The Service offers a free initial assessment and a premium report available for a one-time fee. Pricing is displayed in the Service before purchase. We may change pricing at any time, but changes do not affect purchases already completed.
- Free report: case-strength score and high-level summary based on your inputs.
- Premium report: detailed legal analysis, applicable statutes, action plan, and PDF download.
4. Payment
Payments are processed by Stripe. By submitting payment information, you authorize us, through Stripe, to charge the amount displayed at checkout. We do not store your full card number; Stripe handles card data per the Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard (PCI-DSS).
5. Refunds
We offer a 7-day money-back guarantee on premium reports. See our Refund Policy for details.
6. Your Responsibilities
- Provide accurate information when answering triage questions. Reports are only as accurate as your inputs.
- Do not rely on a Legal Triage report as the sole basis for taking or refraining from legal action.
- Do not use the Service to harass, threaten, defame, or impersonate any person.
- Do not attempt to scrape, reverse-engineer, or interfere with the Service or its underlying systems.
7. Intellectual Property
The Service, including all software, text, graphics, and report templates, is owned by us or our licensors and is protected by copyright and other laws. We grant you a personal, non-transferable, non-exclusive license to use reports you purchase for your own personal or business legal matters. You may not resell, republish, or redistribute reports.
8. Disclaimers
The Service is provided “as is” and “as available,” without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, or non-infringement. We do not warrant that reports are free of errors or that any particular outcome will result from following the information provided.
Statutes change. Court decisions interpret statutes in ways that may not be reflected in our analysis. Always verify current law before acting.
9. Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, our total liability for any claim arising out of or related to the Service is limited to the amount you paid us in the twelve months preceding the claim. We are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including lost profits, lost data, or legal outcomes adverse to you.
10. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold us harmless from any claim, demand, or expense (including reasonable attorneys’ fees) arising out of your use of the Service, your violation of these Terms, or your violation of any law or third-party right.
11. Termination
We may suspend or terminate your access to the Service at any time, with or without cause. Sections that by their nature should survive termination (intellectual property, disclaimers, limitation of liability, indemnification, governing law) will survive.
12. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. The “Last updated” date at the top of this page reflects the most recent version. Continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
13. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Delaware, without regard to its conflict-of-laws principles. Any dispute arising out of or related to these Terms or the Service shall be resolved in the state or federal courts located in Delaware, and you consent to personal jurisdiction in those courts.
