Privacy Policy
Last updated: April 27, 2026
This Privacy Policy explains what information Legal Triage (“we,” “us”) collects, how we use it, and your choices. We aim to collect only what we need to deliver the Service, and to be clear about who we share it with.
1. Information You Provide
- Triage answers. The facts you enter when answering questions about your rental situation, including your role (landlord or tenant), state, and the nature of your dispute.
- Email address, if you provide one to receive your report or a payment receipt.
- Payment information. When you purchase a premium report, payment is processed by Stripe. We receive a confirmation and the last four digits of your card; we do not see or store your full card number, expiration, or CVC.
2. Information We Collect Automatically
- Device and usage data: IP address, browser type, pages visited, timestamps. We use this for security, abuse prevention, and product analytics.
- Cookies and similar technologies: we use a session token to keep your triage state between page loads. We may use cookies for analytics if enabled (see “Analytics” below).
3. How We Use Your Information
- To generate and deliver your free and premium reports.
- To process payments and send receipts.
- To respond to support requests.
- To detect and prevent abuse, fraud, and security incidents.
- To improve the Service — for example, by analyzing aggregate, de-identified usage patterns.
- To comply with legal obligations.
4. Service Providers We Share With
We share information with vendors that help us run the Service, under contracts that limit their use of your data:
- Stripe — payment processing.
- OpenAI — large-language-model inference used to generate reports. Triage answers are sent to OpenAI to produce the report; per OpenAI’s API terms in effect at the time of writing, this data is not used to train their models.
- Pinecone — vector database used to retrieve relevant statutes.
- Sentry — error monitoring (may include partial request metadata when an error occurs).
- Hosting and email providers — to run our infrastructure and deliver transactional email.
5. Analytics
We may use privacy-respecting analytics tools to understand how the Service is used. Where required by law, we will request your consent before setting non-essential cookies.
6. Data Retention
We retain triage answers and reports for as long as needed to provide the Service and meet legal, accounting, and tax obligations. You may request deletion of your data at any time (see “Your Rights” below). Payment records are retained as required by applicable law.
7. Your Rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or port your personal information, and to object to or restrict certain processing. California residents have additional rights under the CCPA/CPRA, including the right to opt out of “sales” or “sharing” of personal information — we do not sell your personal information.
To exercise any of these rights, email privacy@legaltriage.ai. We will verify your request before acting on it.
8. Security
We use industry-standard safeguards including TLS in transit, encrypted storage at rest, and limited internal access. No system is perfectly secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security. If you become aware of a vulnerability, please email security@legaltriage.ai.
9. Children
The Service is not directed to children under 18, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 18. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, contact us and we will delete it.
10. International Users
We are based in the United States. If you use the Service from outside the U.S., you consent to the transfer of your information to the U.S. and to processing under U.S. law.
11. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The “Last updated” date at the top of this page reflects the most recent version. Material changes will be highlighted on the Service or emailed to you if we have your address.
